There was such a sage in Statehelm years ago named Elmetaph, but my spies say he lives now in a lighthouse on a desolate island. Seek out this Elmetaph and force him to fix these calculations.

Oh, hello again! Wait... You've changed. I'm so sorry. You've succumbed to darkness! ... What? Your master wants my help? Well, I love a puzzle, give me the notes. ... Yes, I can realign these coordinates. You probably could have done it yourself, in fact, if you'd happened to recognize this numbering system. It's made by a deceased species of lizard men who had 8 fingers instead of 10. Such a simple biological difference resulted in an entirely different numbering system, which we sages often find useful for coordinate magic... Hm? Oh, my apologies for rambling. Here, I've brought the locations up to date. But the book is still cursed -- you did know about the curse, right? No? Well, that would have been awkward!
